Dr. Sekhar is a Board Certified General surgeon. He is a graduate of, UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, Newark, New Jersey, receiving his general surgery and trauma training at Lenox Hill Hospital, New York, New York and also obtained a Fellowship in Laparoscopic surgery from Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, TN.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a position that requires devotion to surgical practice and uncompromising adherence to the ethical standards of the College. Fellows must have graduated from a medical school accepted by the College, be certified by the American Board of Medical Specialty, hold an unrestricted medical license to practice, and be a specialist in surgery.
His surgical interests include: minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures for colonic issues, gallbladder problems, hernias, reflux and morbid obesity. Robotic surgery.
In addition to his busy practice, Dr. Sekhar enjoys playing with his son, spending time with family and reading. He is an avid enthusiast of photography and film.
