Level II Trauma Center Experience

Trauma resulting from car accidents, pedestrian and bicycle mishaps, falls and other incidents can be life-threatening.  Our surgeons are part of ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Neenah’s Level II Trauma team and are on call 24/7 to treat those injuries.  Our team cares for approximately 400 trauma patients each year.  These dedicated providers are experienced surgeons able to provide critical operative care in emergency situations when timing is critical and potentially life-saving.  Whether you need emergency or traditional surgical care, our surgeons can be trusted to provide the skilled treatment and care you deserve.

All of our surgeons are skilled in performing robotic-assisted surgical procedures.  Robotic assisted surgery provides the surgeons with greater precision and range of motion than traditional operative methods and can lead to less scarring and down time.

Our Gastroenterology team is headed by Dr. Timothy Edison, a board certified gastroenterologist with over 30 years of experience.  Dr. Edison is skilled in treating disorders of the digestive system such as irritable bowl syndrome, Crohn’s disease, colitis, hepatitis and pancreatic conditions.  He performs upper and lower endoscopy, ERCP, and endoscopic ultrasound.

Dr. Georgen is a Board Certified General surgeon. He is a graduate of Loyola Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois. He received his general surgery and trauma training at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  Dr. Georgen specializes in robotic-assisted bariatric surgery, robotic-assisted and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy, surgical oncology, colorectal surgery, vascular surgery and emergency trauma care.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  Dr. Burkett specializes in robotic-assisted lung surgery, retroperitoneal spine exposure, robotic-assisted and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy, endovascular surgery, colorectal surgery, surgical oncology and emergency trauma care.

Dr. Vande Walle is a Board Eligible general and trauma surgeon. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, Wisconsin, receiving her general surgery and trauma training at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison, Wisconsin.  She completed her fellowship training in Advanced GI/Minimally Invasive Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida in Weston, Florida.  She specializes in robotic-assisted and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, breast surgery, hernia repair, surgical oncology, colorectal surgery, and emergency trauma care.

Rishi Subbarayan, M.D.

Dr. Subbarayan is a board-certified fellowship trained vascular surgeon. He is a graduate of the Northeastern Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Ohio, receiving his general surgery training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center – Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Dr. Subbarayan completed his vascular surgery fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He specializes in peripheral artery bypass, angioplasty, aneurysm repair, atherectomy and stenting, transcarotid artery revascularization, and varicose vein procedures.
