Lymph Node Biopsies

Lymph nodes can become enlarged for a variety of reasons. These include: infection, inflammation, reaction to another disease process and cancer. Biopsy of a lymph node may be necessary to help determine the reason for the enlarged node(s). Whatever the reason for the irregularity, our surgeons are adept at diagnosing it with a biopsy.

Biopsy Procedure

The procedure is  usually performed in the day surgery setting. Our physicians also specialize in the sampling of pelvic lymph nodes often done in combination with a hysterectomy by a gynecologist for cancers of the uterus and ovary.  We specialize in performing this sampling utilizing robotic and laparoscopic techniques.
